Report of Chris Beales’ visit to Durham, January 27 2011
Chris Beales spoke at two events in Durham on 27 January. The first was the Durham City Rotary Club lunch at Ramside Hall, Durham, at which 40 people were present. One proposal arising was that Rotary should consider commissioning a carpet with its international logo in – and encourage other Clubs to do the same.

At 7.30pm, Chris Beales spoke at St John’s College, Durham. The gathering of 30 people was chaired by the College principal, David Wilkinson and one of the people present, Dr Gill Boughton, Vice Principal of St Mary’s College, spoke about the University’s link with Kabul University and 25 women students from there currently at St Mary’s. She mooted the idea of a carpet made with St Mary’s logo, as did David Wilkinson for St John’s.
