The Kite Runner -creative writing

An idea for an activity- View a small section of the Kite Runner movie where the two boys participate in an Afghan kite flying event.  Alternatively you can read this section from the text of the novel by Khaled Hosseini.  An extract from the text is more suitable for primary schools as there are parts of the book which may not be appropriate for this age range. 

Y5/6 Pupils at Bubwith Primary School were given an initial paragraph taken from the book (see downloadable resource para 1).  They then developed their own stories around this beginning.  We have published two of the pupil’s stories, which arose from this text, here. The pupils used computers and word processing to publish their stories.
