John has set himself the challenge of running and cycling 5529 kilometres (equivalent to Afghanistan’s borderline) by 11 November 2011 to raise money for Afghan Action—averaging around 15 kilometres per day.  He passed the halfway mark on 15 April (2765 kilometres—422 kilometres in his running shoes) so is homeward bound!  See his Team Afghanistan pages on Just Giving
