Afghan Action invites you to a special Christmas sale of traditional, hand-made Afghan carpets made by young people in Kabul, Afghanistan
on Monday 16 November 2009, from 6 - 8pm, at St Mary le Bow Church, Cheapside EC2V 6AU

Afghan Action set up a training school and factory in 2005 for young men and women, some disabled, in Kabul, making handmade carpets. We have trained over 360 young people. All staff and trainees also receive daily literacy and numeracy classes, a free midday meal and on-site healthcare.

Our goal – to help young people help themselves through training and jobs.

  • You can buy a unique carpet made by hand from sheep’s wool and mainly natural dyes
  • You can donate towards the cost of education, healthcare and food
  • You can “Sponsor a Trainee” for £360, payable by instalments

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Afghanaid, who will also be selling Afghan handicrafts, jewellery, music and books. All proceeds will benefit the people of Afghanistan.
