Follow the ‘Afghan Tales’ to the emerald pastures, snow capped Pamirs and arid valleys of Afghanistan: a land of teaming bazaars and palaces inhabited by greedy kings, clever princess, rhobab players, viziers vying for power and jinn spirits. Join us for stories of fortune, romance, magic, buried treasure and mythical creatures.

Afghan Tales introduces the customs, religions, cultures that make up this fascinating and often misunderstood country. The performances will take place in a traditional Afghan yurt and will be accompanied by traditional music by the renowned Professor John Baily.

A traditional puppet-making workshop follows the 3pm performance and a carpet-making workshop follows the 7pm performance (both are suitable for children aged 5 years and older). Delicious Afghan refreshments will also be available.
